Audio software developer Venomode has launched Mesa, a multi-mode clipper plugin available for macOS, Windows, and Linux systems that provides several methods for controlling audio peaks and boosting loudness. The software features three clipping modes and two enhancement tools designed for tasks ranging from basic peak management to adding sonic weight and volume to musical tracks, with multiband and mid-side processing capabilities allowing precise adjustments across various applications.
The plugin incorporates LUFS and peak monitoring displays that enable users to compare both peak and perceived loudness levels at input and output stages, while oversampling up to 16 times helps minimize aliasing and unwanted artifacts. The company is offering Mesa at a reduced price of 29 pounds through early December before reverting to its standard 49-pound cost.
Venomode has also released Mesa Lite, a no-cost version featuring a single soft clipper module with variable rollover control for signal saturation or gentle peak control, requiring no user registration or account creation.
