Walter Magaya's fraud case has been postponed to 9 December

A fraud case involving Prophet Walter Magaya and his wife, Tendai, has been delayed at Harare Magistrates Court, with proceedings now set to resume in early December. Prosecutors told the court that investigations remain incomplete because several witness statements have not yet been collected. The defense agreed to the adjournment but indicated they expect firm trial scheduling when the court resumes.

The religious leader and his spouse face accusations through their companies, Planet Africa Private Limited and Yadah Connect Private Limited, of defrauding 13 people in a collapsed land investment scheme. Complainants allegedly lost a combined total exceeding $49,000 plus additional amounts in other currencies. Walter Magaya is facing 78 fraud charges stemming from the property venture allegations.

The prophet separately faces five rape accusations in an unrelated prosecution that continues alongside the financial case. Both defendants remain free on bail conditions while awaiting further court action.
