Walvis Bay has started building a new Kuisebmond pump station, the municipality said Friday. CSV Construction Namibia is the main contractor on the N$25.5 million project, which replaces an aging sewer facility that no longer meets demand. Officials said the upgrade will boost capacity, improve reliability and make the wastewater network more efficient for the Kuisebmond area.
The work is part of a wider plan to modernize essential systems for a growing population and support long-term economic and social development. Construction is set to run until December 2026. Residents can expect heavy equipment such as excavators and loaders in the area, along with periods of noise and vibration. Sections of Nathaniel Maxuilili Avenue will be partly closed at stages to keep the site safe, and the municipality asked for patience as the work proceeds.
