Tracktion just released Waveform 13.5 and music makers are getting some serious upgrades. The company packed the latest version with major improvements to clip launching that make recording and playback way smoother. Users can pick how long they want their recorded clips to be while new Legato modes help create flowing performances. The software adds a Nudge feature that lets people fine-tune exactly where their clips start playing. Three fresh launch modes called Gate, Toggle and Repeat give musicians the tools to build complex rhythms and stuttering effects.
The automation system got a complete makeover with clip-level controls that work on both audio and MIDI clips. Musicians can layer different automation tricks and mix linked and unlinked curves to craft unique gates, risers and rhythmic patterns. The software handles automation curves with much better precision and offers tons of customizable shapes. Users can bypass curves with one click or adjust automation selections using the new curve adjuster tool. Real-time visual feedback shows exactly what's happening with color-coded automation modes.
Tracktion worked behind the scenes to make everything run faster and smoother during heavy recording sessions. The update works on Windows 10 and newer, Mac computers running macOS 10.15 and up, plus Linux Ubuntu 20.04 and Raspberry Pi systems. Current Waveform users get the upgrade without paying extra fees.
