Why hasn't Tendai Magaya spoken herself?

With all these major allegations and the arrest, have we heard anything directly from Tendai Magaya? All the reports I see quote her lawyers or just describe what's happening in court. She’s a huge public figure in her own right, not just the prophet's wife. You would think she might want to release a statement to her followers or the public.

Her silence is quite noticeable. Maybe it's just legal advice, telling her to stay quiet so she doesn't make things worse. But from a public relations point of view, it’s interesting. I wonder if Tendai Magaya will ever give her side of the story or if we will only hear from the lawyers. What do you think is the reason she's being so quiet through all this?

It's the first rule of being in legal trouble: keep your mouth shut. Her silence is 100% a legal strategy, and it's a smart one. Tendai Magaya is facing very serious criminal charges. Anything she says publicly—in a press release, a church service, or a social media post—can be taken by the prosecution and used as evidence against her in court.

Imagine if she said, "It was all a simple misunderstanding." The prosecutor would have a field day with that, asking a professional banker to explain how she "misunderstood" a multi-thousand-dollar scheme. If she tried to blame her husband, it would destroy their united front. If she says anything, she risks contradicting her own lawyers or accidentally admitting to something.

So, her legal team has definitely told her to say nothing. All communication will go through them. It might look bad from a public relations standpoint, as people want to hear her side of the story. But right now, Tendai Magaya isn't fighting a PR battle; she's fighting a criminal case to stay out of prison.
