Louisville band Wombo released their new song Neon Bog after sharing the title track from their upcoming album Danger In Fives last month. Singer and bass player Sydney Chadwick says the track reflects on a simple moment with a friend and how relationships shift over time. The murky feeling of the song matches how things become unclear as connections change. Guitarist Cameron Lowe directed the music video and drew inspiration from filmmaker Michel Gondry's practical effects work. He built a full-sized miniature set and projected scenes onto a sheet outside the window instead of using green screens.
Lowe has been watching Ghost Adventures and wanted to explore paranormal themes through the video. The story shows a couple dealing with their dead cat's ghost. Puzzle pieces appear throughout as symbols of trying to fix their relationship. The cat exists in another world with Sydney according to the concept. Fire Talk Records will release Danger In Fives on August 8th as Wombo continues building anticipation for their new material.
