XILS Lab has launched MemoryTone, a Memorymoog-inspired synth built with modern production controls baked into the design. Each voice gets three analog-style oscillators with pulse, sawtooth, and triangle shapes, while the third oscillator can drop into a low-frequency mode for modulation work.
Deeper control gets pretty serious. A self-oscillating 24 dB ladder filter handles tone shaping, joined by two ADSR envelopes, a 0.1 to 100 Hz LFO, six assignable modulation slots, unison, glide, drift, detuning, aftertouch, velocity, and full MPE support.
For movement and sequencing, MemoryTone packs mono and poly arpeggiator modes with swing, gate control, octave expansion, broken chords, and random patterns. Chorus, phaser, delay, reverb, EQ, and a three-band resonator can each use separate routing.
Windows 7 or newer and macOS 10.13 or newer are supported through VST2, VST3, AU, and AAX. MemoryTone launches at $79 before moving to $199.
