Yaeji returns with funky new track and quirky music video

Yaeji made one of the best albums last year, With A Hammer. Since then, this Korean-born artist who lives in New York has released several songs—"booboo" by herself, "Pink Ponies" with Teddy Geiger (not related to Chappell Roan), and "Believe In Ya" with Girl Talk and T-Pain. She just released another solo track, "Pondeggi."

The name comes from a Korean street food called beondegi. The song turns hand claps into something funky that makes you want to dance, almost like trap music. Her lyrics talk about using art when times are tough and watching revolution happen through social media. She whispers lines like "Little by little the truth becomes clear/ Whether you like it or not, it'll appear" in her soft voice. She mixes in Korean words here and there, adding, "Keep scrolling 'til you're rolling in passive."

Below, you can watch Andrew Thomas Huang's music video for "Pondeggi." The video looks wild and crazy in the best possible way.
