Yamaha added 76-key CK76 to its stage keyboard lineup

Yamaha CK76 brings a 76-key choice to its portable stage keyboard family. It joins the smaller CK61 and the piano-focused CK88, giving players a middle option with a mix of piano, organ, and synth tones. The new model keeps the range's hands-on layout and gig-friendly design.

For sound, Yamaha taps its CP piano and YC organ ranges. Players get acoustic pianos, electric keys, organs, brass, strings, and synth patches. The front panel has real drawbars for organ tones, along with filter and envelope knobs for synth tweaks. Effect settings are easy to reach as well.

Live players can stack several tones or put different sounds on each side of the keys. That makes it easy to move between parts without a lot of menu work.

The CK76 uses a semi-weighted FSB action rather than the hammer keys found in the CK88. It shares its keybed type with the CK61, but Yamaha says the new version needs more force at the start of a press and has a longer travel range. The feel aims to suit organ, synth, and electric piano parts.

Portability gets some love as well. Speakers are built into the case, and batteries can keep it running away from a wall outlet. Bluetooth handles audio playback, while USB audio, MIDI input and output, and pedal jacks help it work with other gear.

Meanwhile, CK OS V2.0 brings fresh features to the whole family at no cost. The update adds three electric piano tones, 16 Live Sets, and more ways to set up keyboard splits and layers. CK61 and CK88 users can install it, and the CK76 gets the same features.

As for price, Yamaha has set the CK76 at $1,249.99.
