Zakaria - Sungura’s quiet architect and mentor

Nicholas Zakaria ran Khiama Boys like a boot camp instead of chasing fame the way Leonard Dembo and Tongai Moyo did, and he showed up to gigs dressed like an apostolic prophet while drilling his musicians on timing and professionalism. His whole thing was building talent rather than flexing, and that teaching factory pumped out heavy hitters like Alick Macheso and System Tazvida before they went off to dominate the sungura scene on their own.

Zakaria kept releasing consistent spiritual tracks without gimmicks or scandals while other stars were doing flashy choreography and cracking jokes on stage. His legacy landed differently because he became the behind-the-scenes architect who shaped multiple generations of guitar-driven Zimbabwean music through pure discipline and mentorship.
