Zim warned that gender gains are at risk without better coordination

Zimbabwe's women's affairs minister cautioned that fragmented implementation threatens the nation's gender equality advancement unless government bodies, advocacy groups and international partners improve their collaboration. Monica Mutsvangwa revealed during the rollout of a new coordination blueprint that recent evaluations exposed disconnected institutional relationships hampering resource allocation and oversight.

The minister emphasized that while progressive constitutional provisions exist, tangible execution remains critical for achieving parity between the sexes. She pointed to recent diplomatic engagement with Mozambique, where gender advancement secured placement among three presidential agreements, demonstrating heightened regional priority. The framework aims to centralize stakeholder cooperation across public administration, business sectors, academic institutions and development organizations through unified accountability measures rather than scattered initiatives that duplicate resources and dilute impact.
