Zimbabwe, a Mufakose man gets twenty years for killing a pal over sadza

A man got twenty years for killing his friend because of sadza and twenty bucks. Byson Mwachande from Mufakose was convicted of murdering Michael Salimon near the Lyton Flyover. A judge in Harare dished out the penalty after Mwachande turned himself in to the cops.

The whole fight blew up over shared food and cash. Mwachande got mad after seeing Salimon eat a meal with another coworker. He demanded payment for earlier food and tried to take Salimon's share of the day's earnings, which was twenty dollars. The refusal made him snap.

He chased two men in a truck, leaped from the moving vehicle, and hit Salimon once in the head with a rock. Salimon dropped dead on the road immediately. A medical report listed the cause as massive head trauma, a fractured skull, and brain bleeding.

Prosecutors stated the case shows violence is a useless way to solve arguments. They called the death a pointless tragedy stemming from a petty conflict. The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe warned people against letting anger lead to irreversible actions.
