Zimbabwe Golf Whiz Kids Land World Cup Spot

Zimbabwe junior golfers earned their spot at the 2025 Toyota Junior Golf World Cup yesterday. The team finished second at the All-Africa Junior Golf Team Championship held in Tunisia. Thomas Sinclair, Tanaka Chatora, Brandon Amm, and Tawana Mangoma represented Zimbabwe among 15 competing nations.

This marks Zimbabwe's second straight qualification for the global tournament. They placed second behind South Africa last year as well. The top two countries from both boys' and girls' divisions advanced to the world championship, which is scheduled for October in Japan.

The Zimbabwe boys' team scored 882 points, finishing 18 over par. South Africa won the tournament with 842 points, ending 22 under par. Shutt led Zimbabwe individually, taking fourth place with rounds of 74, 72, 73, and 70 for a total of 289. Chatora came in sixth position.

Mangoma and Amm tied for tenth place with identical scores of 310 points each. Their solid performances helped secure Zimbabwe's qualification against strong competition from across the continent.
