Zimbabwe minister calls for calm diaspora voices

Zimbabwe wants its citizens abroad to behave themselves. Foreign Minister Professor Amon Murwira told people at a diaspora meeting they shouldn't criticize leaders loudly on television. He said the country follows a mature foreign policy these days. The government expects everyone to speak with one voice about national matters. Citizens who make angry public statements risk problems for all sixteen million Zimbabweans.

The minister warned people against blocking international aid coming to Zimbabwe. He reminded them that building their homeland remains their duty, whether they live inside or outside the country. Any complaints about domestic issues should be raised at home rather than abroad. Foreign nations just laugh when they hear someone badmouthing their birthplace. Zimbabweans should pray quietly if they feel upset instead of speaking out angrily.

Under its current approach, Zimbabwe treats all countries as equals. The government considers itself friendly toward everyone without seeking enemies. Officials want diaspora members to help develop the economy as part of President Mnangagwa's plan for national growth. This supports his promise that nobody will be forgotten regardless of where they live. The diaspora community plays an essential role in Zimbabwe's future success.
