In this FL Studio Tutorial you will learn how to color code  and rename FL Studio’s mixer insert effects. The purpose of color coding and renaming FL Studio’s mixer effects is meant to help you identify your standard effect chain for a faster production, mixing or mastering workflow.

Step 1: Open FL Studio’s mixer. (You can use the shortcut key F9 to open FL Studio’s mixer)

Step 2: Load insert effects into FL Studio’s mixer insert slots.

Step 3: Click on the mixer’s insert effect menu and navigate your mouse cursor pointer to where it says  “Rename, color and icon…”

Step 4: After you have left-clicked on FL Studio’s FX insert menu option which says “Rename, color and icon…” that should prompt you to rename the insert effect and color code it which ever way you like. In this instance we have chose to rename the mixer insert effect to “EQ” and give it a green color code.

Step 5: Don’t forget to click on the checkered icon of the dialog box to verify that you are fine with the new renaming settings you have opted for.
