Museveni promises Shs85 billion fund to boost salon businesses
Museveni told salon workers at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds he would kick them 85 billion shillings through a revolving fund system, and the money gets split between 850 SACCOs at 100 million per group. The president said the operators need to borrow cash for a year instead of the usual two-year setup farmers get under PDM, then pay it back with minimal interest attached. Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa called out how budget money for salons and other industries gets approved but never actually released by places like the Microfinance Support Centre. Federation chair Kamanyire Celestine asked Museveni to officially launch their SACCOs nationwide and confirmed each one has over 50 members who need the funding. Museveni went off about...
UCC and Ministry back STEM competition, shaping Uganda’s future innovators
UCC Director Christine Mugimba and the Ministry of Education showed up at the National STEM and Robotics Skills Competitions in Kampala to back the program, and they said the country needs to get kids ready for tech jobs before falling behind on AI and robotics. More than 380 students from 48 teams at 30 different schools competed in categories like engineering design and hackathons, with eight squads winning spots to represent Uganda at international events in America. Mellon Kenyangi from Next Gen Restyling Limited runs the whole thing, and she basically said the government needs to stop just talking about unemployment while ignoring science education funding. The Ministry's Ronald Ddungu mentioned the new curriculum has already...
Kapfupi blasts Mai Nga for affair, says she fled with kids
Kapfupi is going through it after his wife, Mai Nga, bounced at 1 am with their four children to be with her married side piece, Tonderai. The comedian says she got pregnant by the other dude, and she ended up losing the baby after she dipped from their house. Mai Nga apparently told family members the pregnancy belonged to her lover instead of her husband, and Kapfupi found messages on her phone where she saved the guy under a fake name. She was texting him late at night while her husband was sleeping next to her. The entertainer thought they would grow old together, but somebody got into her head and wrecked everything. He says he has all the proof he needs to back up his story.
Hichilema orders internet blackout to rig vote, Zambia faces darker days
Zambian President Hichilema apparently dropped orders for the country to go dark online when parliament votes on Bill 7, and whoever posted this thinks it's basically a cover for election fraud. The government wants citizens to be totally blind to whatever goes down in the chamber while legislators handle their business. The person writing this figures Zambia already bottomed out under the previous leader, Lungu, but they're saying things are about to get way more sketchy under the current administration.
UPDF confirms priest's arrest, denies kidnapping claims
The UPDF came out and said they arrested Rev. Fr. Deusdedit Ssekabira from Masaka Diocese, and the guy is sitting in custody facing allegations about violent actions against the government. Col. Chris Magezi dropped a statement confirming security forces grabbed the priest, and they plan to charge him in court soon. Masaka Diocese had been saying armed dudes in military gear kidnapped Ssekabira from his office in Katwe back at the start of the month. Bishop Serverus Jjumba told everyone to pray three times daily for the priest to come home safe, but then the military basically said he was never missing in the first place. Police had tweeted earlier that they were still checking if the abduction even happened, which makes the whole...
Vipers see off BUL, Calvary and Mbarara share points
Vipers beat BUL 3-1 at St Mary's Stadium in Kitende to jump up to second place with 21 points, and they sit two points behind KCCA even though the leaders have an extra game. Enock Ssebagala opened scoring after halftime with a 25-yard banger, but Jerome Kirya equalized from a free kick before Abdul Karim Watambala buried a penalty and Usama Arafat added another goal to seal the win. The hosts pulled it off without Allan Okello, Hillary Mukundane, and Rogers Torach since those guys are on national team duty. BUL dropped their fifth straight match and are stuck at 12th with 10 points from 10 games. Calvary and Mbarara City drew 1-1 after Ibrahim Dada scored a penalty for the home side, but Stephen Oriokot put one in his own net to level...
Uganda Cranes draw with AS FAR, Bogere shines bright
Uganda tied AS FAR Rabat 2-2 at Maamora Stadium in an AFCON warmup match, and coach Paul Put gave teenage forward James Bogere his senior debut. Denis Omedi put the Cranes ahead before Reda Slim leveled things up for the hosts right before halftime. Ivan Ahimbisibwe scored what looked like the winner, but Haddraf Fatah equalized again to make it a draw. Put said Bogere looked solid for a kid who just played at the U17 World Cup, and he was happy with how Travis Mutyaba and Bobosi Byaruhanga performed. The Belgian manager admitted the team got sloppy with possession in the second half, but he liked that they created a bunch of scoring chances throughout the game. Uganda faces Gabon next before heading into their AFCON group with...
Uganda crushes Malawi, She Cranes eye final showdown
Uganda stomped Malawi 46-33 at the Griffins Saenda Sports Complex in Lilongwe to reach the Africa Netball Cup final, and Shadia Nassanga Ssegujja picked up player of the match honors. The She Cranes went up 12-7 after the first quarter, then stretched their advantage to 24-15 by halftime. They basically put the game away in the third period by outscoring the hosts 11-7 to make it 35-22. Malawi fought back in the final quarter and matched Uganda's output, but the damage was already done. The She Cranes will face South Africa in the championship match, and they know they need to avoid their usual slow starts against the Proteas while staying disciplined to limit penalties. Uganda has beaten Kenya 46-45, Zimbabwe 59-38, and Namibia 47-39...

Samuel Nabeeta Mulowooza from the Patriotic League of Uganda told young people in Busoga to focus on making families richer instead of just doing political theater, claiming that stable household income leads to peaceful communities and long-term development. He spoke at Fort Lugard in Iganga District when NRM youth groups launched a united framework to coordinate ahead of the 2026 elections, bringing together PLU, ONC, NRM Youth Council, NRM Youth League, and patriotism clubs.
