Gambian narcotics agents conducted multiple arrests across the country between November 7 and 8, detaining eight individuals on suspicion of possessing and cultivating illegal substances.
Authorities apprehended Bubacarr Tamba, 31, near Mayork while transporting 46 packages of suspected marijuana hidden in cement wrapping inside flour sacks. Dawda Saidy, 30, was detained at a restaurant in Gunjur with cannabis and ecstasy tablets, while teacher Sang E. Mendy, 40, faced arrest after officers discovered marijuana plants growing behind his home in Kassa Kunda Village.
