King Charles and Pope Leo pray together in the Sistine Chapel
King Charles and Pope Leo prayed together in the Sistine Chapel, a first for leaders of the Church of England and the Catholic Church. The visit offered quiet moments amid public attention on Prince Andrew. Cameras followed them closely, which the King called a “constant hazard.” The Pope replied that one gets used to it. Later, the royal couple visited the tomb of St Paul for private prayer. Gifts were exchanged, including an icon for the Pope. Knighthoods were also shared. The day showed how old divisions can soften with time. Music by Thomas Tallis, once composed amid religious...

Ruth Chepngetich was banned for three years for doping in the Chicago marathon scandal
Ruth Chepngetich, the woman who holds the world record for the marathon, has received a three-year ban. She admitted to breaking anti-doping rules. Her past wins, such as her record run in Chicago in October 2024, will not be taken away. The Athletics Integrity Unit sought a four-year ban, but the penalty was reduced to three years after she admitted fault. The unit still looks into messages from her phone that suggest she may have used the drug on purpose. Her ban started on 19 April. All her results and prizes from 14 March onward have been taken away.
