The 44-year-old man saw the dodgy ad in mid-May and thought he could make easy money. He contacted the scammers through WhatsApp who promised him daily returns of 10 percent on his investment. The victim believed their lies and started sending money right away. Kedah police say the man finally reported the crime on Monday afternoon when he realized he had been tricked.
