Drug enforcement officers captured four tons of illegal substances across Adamawa State over the past year. The Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency announced these results Wednesday during International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking ceremonies. State Commander Aliyu Abubakar reported his teams found marijuana, methamphetamine, Tramadol and other banned drugs weighing nearly 4,000 kilograms. Officers arrested 583 people during this period with most suspects being men. Courts convicted 225 drug criminals and ordered them to pay over one million naira to federal authorities.
