Anambra State leaders approved major building projects during their meeting at the Light House in Awka on June 16, 2025. The state council decided to spend billions on roads, schools, and flood protection across the region. Commissioner for Information Law Mefor announced the decisions after the 11th state meeting ended.
The biggest project costs 3.5 billion naira for erosion control and flood prevention in Umunze. Workers will also build a 2.28 kilometer road connecting schools and homes in the area. Saidi Nigeria Limited won the contract for both parts of this major work. The state will spend 2.65 billion naira on 3.9 kilometers of access roads at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University campus in Uli.
