16M Ugandans Ready to Cash In Big on LEGS

About 16 million Ugandans will receive help from a new 150 million dollar development project. The Local Economic Growth Support program enters its second phase with major funding increases. Ministry of Local Government officials run the five-year initiative across multiple districts. The project targets climate change problems and supports young business owners and women. Small farmers gain access to irrigation systems and better crop processing methods.

Dr David Siriri helps guide the technical parts of the LEGS project implementation. The first phase cost 43 million dollars and covered 17 districts for over five years. Workers built community roads to connect rural producers with city markets. Construction teams created new markets, processing centers, and access routes for villages. Local people received loans and financing to start money-making businesses.

Christopher Kisinde tracks project progress and measures community improvements across target areas. The program addresses basic needs like clean water access and road infrastructure. Farmers receive fertilizers and agricultural supplies to boost crop production. Better roads help communities transport goods to buyers more easily. Project officials expect major life changes for families participating in development activities.
