Energy outfit 265 and Pinnacle Finance Services teamed up in Lilongwe to get more Malawians access to solar panels and gas cylinders through payment plans that match people's salary schedules. Company founder Mfundo Mbvundula said the deal lets customers skip upfront costs while Pinnacle fronts the cash and buyers pay back monthly, which helps families ditch charcoal without getting wrecked by sticker shock. His company moved over 4,000 affordable gas tanks last year and ran safety workshops with groups like UNDP, showing people how to handle the equipment properly.
