Sudan's Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and its friends signed an important agreement on Sunday. They did this in the middle of the night in Nairobi, Kenya. Many people from Sudan came together to talk for four days. They want to make a new Sudan that is better for everyone.
The agreement will create something called the Sudan Founding Alliance. Over 20 political parties from Sudan signed the agreement. 10 organizations that help people and five military groups also signed. The RSF led the military groups.
The agreement says that Sudan needs a new army. This army should include people from all parts of Sudan and should not get involved in politics. The new army would stop the war that is happening in Sudan right now. It would also fight against terrorists and make friends with nearby countries.
People say that President William Ruto of Kenya did a good job. He did not take sides even though some people thought the meeting in Nairobi was trying to make a separate government. The people who signed the agreement said Kenya just gave them a place to talk about Sudan's problems and find answers.
The war in Sudan has been going on for almost two years. It has made life very hard for over 12 million people. The United Nations says it is the worst hunger and displacement crisis in the world.
The Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N), led by Abdelaziz al-Hilu, signed the agreement. This group controls some parts of the southern Kordofan and Blue Nile states. Abdel Rahim Daglo, brother of the RSF commander Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, also signed.
The agreement says Sudan should be a country where everyone is free and equal. It should not favor any culture, race, religion, or region over others. It also talks about making a new, united army that shows how different Sudan is.
The new government wants to end the war, ensure people can get help when they need it, and unite all the armed groups into one national force.
