Hudson Rock cybercrime expert Alon Gal believes the hack seems real based on screenshots showing 4chan's internal systems. An unnamed 4chan moderator told TechCrunch they had no reason to doubt these screenshots were authentic. The website worked only sometimes on Tuesday.
