Kwara youths torch Fulani settlement over bandit link

Angry young people attacked a Fulani community in Kemenji Village, Kwara State, on Thursday. They blamed the Fulani residents for helping bandits kidnap and kill local people. Counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama shared this news on social media Friday. Intelligence sources told him that Ibrahim Bature led the youth group that burned several huts before running away. Nigerian Army troops worked with police and other security teams to quickly control the situation.

Security forces arrived at the scene and stopped further violence. They continue looking for Bature and others involved in the attack who remain on the run. The security agencies promised they had everything under control. They warned people against taking the law into their own hands. The authorities stated they remain committed to protecting everyone living in the area.
