Ndodana Tshuma arrested in Johannesburg over wife, daughters' deaths

A suspected family killer crossed borders, but the escape route appears to have hit a hard stop in Johannesburg. A joint Interpol and South African Police Service operation found 45-year-old Ndodana Tshuma in Kensington. The Zimbabwe-born British national is expected to appear before the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court.

The allegations are brutally grim. Authorities link Tshuma to the deaths of his wife, 42-year-old Nothabo Tshuma, and daughters Natalie, 15, and Nala, five. Investigators discovered all three bodies inside a property near Bedford in the United Kingdom.

National police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe praised the cross-border coordination, arguing that fugitives cannot treat South Africa like a safe haven. Justice Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi says extradition paperwork is moving toward Tshuma’s return to Britain. His OR Tambo entry happened before British authorities flagged him, which explains how he passed immigration checks.
