ABBA Voyage fuels UK economy, London cashes in on pop

The hologram ABBA show running out of London pulled almost three billion bucks into the British economy over three years since launch. Craig Hartenstine leads ABBA Voyage as CEO and mentioned the concert added over 1.5 billion to the capital while generating close to 10,000 jobs across the hospitality and retail sectors. International tourists made up about 18 percent of the three million people who showed up to watch digital versions of the Swedish group perform at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Visitors dropped an average of 224 pounds per day around London beyond ticket costs, and local boroughs near the venue accounted for roughly 19 percent of total economic activity. The show scored sustainability certification and reported benefits for mental health based on attendee surveys.

The production runs through at least mid-2026, and producers credited community programs plus educational partnerships for boosting social impact numbers year over year.
