Abia gov Alex Otti vows to sack any aide caught taking a bribe

Abia State's chief executive Alex Otti delivered stern warnings about administrative misconduct during Saturday worship services at Abayi District Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Aba Conference. The governor announced immediate termination for any government official who accepts bribes or participates in corrupt practices. His administration recently dismissed six Justice Ministry personnel for manipulating salary records just two weeks prior. Officials who demand payments from citizens are fraudsters who fail to deliver promised services according to Otti's statements. The governor emphasized his commitment to restoring traditional Igbo values of honesty and integrity throughout state operations.

Otti declared zero tolerance policies toward corruption with no exceptions for political connections or personal appeals. The administration hired 5,394 teachers through merit-based selection without requiring financial contributions from candidates. His political involvement aims to rebuild Abia's reputation and eliminate the dishonest practices that previously damaged public trust. Citizens should report any requests for unofficial payments as these demands violate government policy. The governor stressed that legitimate government services never require additional fees beyond official channels.
