Acclaim returns from the grave with a pile of PC indie games

Acclaim Entertainment returned to video game publishing after announcing its comeback earlier this year. The company held its inaugural PlayAcclaim presentation to reveal nine titles under development. Katanaut, a 2D action-horror game from Voidmaw, became available during the event. The remaining eight projects span various genres across multiple developers.

The roster features GRIDBeat from Ridiculous Games, Talaka by Potato Kid, and The Prisoning by Elden Pixels. Additional titles comprise Pixel Washer from Valadria, Basketball Classics by Namo Gamo, and Ground Hero Zero from Rowan Edmondson. TossDown by Fer Factor and Hyper Yuki from Wabisabi Design complete the collection. Most games target PC platforms, while Basketball Classics supports Nintendo Switch.

Chief Executive Officer Alex Josef expressed enthusiasm about the relaunch and its creative direction. Basketball Classics originally released in 2019 before Acclaim acquired its publishing rights. Steam users can access demonstrations for both Katanaut and Pixel Washer immediately.
