The warning did not prevent the Weija Gbawe Municipal Assembly from rejecting Felix Odartey Lamptey as Municipal Chief Executive. He received just nine votes out of nineteen cast during the assembly meeting, which fell short of the required two-thirds majority needed for his confirmation. Lamptey serves as the National Democratic Congress Parliamentary Candidate for the area. Many residents who attended the assembly session expressed disappointment about the result.
