ADC opens new Abuja secretariat as David Mark speaks

Nigeria's African Democratic Congress has opened a new national secretariat in Abuja, with party chairman David Mark declaring the occasion a defining moment that signals a departure from conventional political practices. The four-story building will function as the party's operational hub for strategy development and leadership training, he said during the ceremony.

The event drew several prominent political figures, including former governors Rotimi Amaechi, Nasir El-Rufai, Rauf Aregbesola, and Oserheimen Osunbor. National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi dismissed speculation that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar donated the property, clarifying that he had only leased it during his campaign, and the tenancy has expired. The party emphasized that no presidential ticket has been reserved for any specific candidate.

Abdullahi confirmed that membership waivers previously granted to figures like Peter Obi and El-Rufai remain valid. The party plans to begin nationwide membership registration and will hold state congresses in February, with transition committees already being established across various chapters.
