Adedeji shuts down claims tax reforms target opposition

Zacch Adedeji swears the tax man won't hunt enemies despite deep paranoia from everyone online. The Nigeria Revenue Service boss insisted that fresh fiscal updates exist strictly for national stability rather than crushing political rivals. He claimed during a broadcast interview that these changes prioritize transparency over weaponized audits. Adedeji argued that Bola Tinubu showed massive guts in pushing this agenda close to the election season instead of playing safe games like typical politicians.

The official stated that fear is misplaced since new rules actually remove human bias using automation. He explained that setting up strict digital systems prevents officials from acting on personal grudges or partisan orders. Adedeji noted that fixing structural messiness matters more than looking good temporarily. He maintained that simplifications aim to make voluntary payment easier without needing threats or coercion.

Building trust remains the main goal, according to him. The chairman stressed that citizens need proof that their money improves services before confidence returns. He promised these tweaks would protect vulnerable groups while keeping tax collection totally separate from dirty political fights.
