Actor and filmmaker Afdlin Shauki required medical attention at Lahad Datu Hospital after collapsing from heat exhaustion while campaigning for Pakatan Harapan contenders during nomination activities. The Setiawangsa PKR chief had traveled to support party candidates Romansa Lamin and Abdul Halim Sidek Gulam Hassan as they launched their respective campaigns for the Segama and Silam constituencies.
Afdlin lost consciousness outside Dewan Perdana, where hundreds of supporters had assembled under the intense sun. Romansa will compete against six rivals, including sitting representative Mohammaddin Ketapi. Abdul Halim enters a nine-candidate race led by Warisan's Mohd Yusof Apdal. Another supporter also fainted at the venue and received ambulance transport to the hospital.
