AG Hammers Ex NSB Boss Adu Boahene with 85 Docs

Attorney General lawyers filed 85 documents against former National Signals Bureau chief Kwabena Adu-Boahene and three others accused of stealing 49.1 million cedis. Prosecutors prepared witness statements from three people who will testify about the crimes. Deputy Attorney General Justice Srem-Sai asked court permission to add evidence from Auditor-General office. The new papers show Adu-Boahene never declared his wealth before taking the government job. Defense lawyer Samuel Atta Akyea confirmed receiving huge stacks of prosecution evidence.

Adu-Boahene faces charges along with his wife Angela Adjei-Boateng and associates Mildred Donkor and Advantage Solutions Limited company. Court papers claim the group created fake companies that looked like real government agencies. They moved public money into private accounts and spent it on expensive things. All defendants deny the accusations during the trial that attracts attention from around the world. The case covers 11 different criminal charges ranging from theft to money laundering.

Prosecutors created simple charts that track stolen money from government accounts to personal bank accounts. The maps show transfer dates and names of people who received the cash payments. Justice Eugene Nyante Nyadu postponed the case until June 26 for more planning meetings. Court officials will schedule actual trial dates during the next hearing session. Defense teams want prosecutors to reveal National Security Coordinator banking records.
