Al-Okhdood dumps Musona after he saves them from relegation

Al-Okhdood terminated Knowledge Musona's contract as part of a comprehensive roster overhaul following the Saudi club's relegation battle. The 35-year-old Zimbabwean forward departed alongside six other international players whom management deemed incompatible with their revised tactical approach. Club officials pursued a comprehensive restructuring of their foreign player roster after barely maintaining their top-division status during the previous campaign. Asharq Al-Awsat reported that the exodus affected Nigerian Savior Godwin, Guinean Ousmane Barry, Jamaican Damion Lowe, and Brazilian players Paulo Vitor, Petros Matheus, and Diego Souza. Management prioritized acquiring new signings that align with their strategic vision for the upcoming season.

Contract negotiations between Musona and Al-Okhdood took place in early June, following the conclusion of the league. The Warriors' international had contributed significantly to the team's survival efforts throughout the challenging season. However, both parties failed to reach mutually acceptable terms despite extended discussions. Al-Okhdood ultimately chose not to extend his agreement as they committed to their foreign roster transformation. The decision reflects the club's determination to avoid another relegation struggle through personnel changes.
