Alam, Taiyeb plan to control cable TV and OTT platforms

Bangladesh's top media boss wants to shake up the country's TV and internet systems. Information and Broadcasting Adviser Md. Mahfuj Alam told officials that people deserve better broadcasting services. He met with government leaders to talk about making cable TV digital and improving streaming platforms. The adviser said his ministry will work with the telecommunications department to get things done. Both groups need to team up to make the changes happen.

Government tech expert Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb pushed for a special plan to upgrade the whole system. He wants to make sure regular families can use the new technology without problems. The plan will bring together TV station owners and cable companies to figure out the best way forward. Officials will decide who gets licenses and how to make money from the new services. Leaders from both ministries promised to keep working together on the project.

The meeting brought together big names from the broadcasting world. TV channel owners and cable operators sat down with government secretaries to hash out the details. Information and Broadcasting Secretary Mahbuba Farjana joined the talks along with other department heads. The groups will keep meeting to work out licensing rules and watch how companies follow the new guidelines. Everyone agreed that modernizing the system will help viewers get better shows and faster internet.
