Albania taps Bangladesh, Begaj grins

Albanian President Bajram Begaj proposed recruiting skilled and semi-skilled Bangladeshi workers during discussions with Professor Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Adviser, at the 80th United Nations General Assembly on Thursday. Multiple Albanian companies have submitted applications seeking Bangladeshi employees to address labor shortages across various sectors. The president highlighted potential tourism collaboration while showcasing Albania's southern coastline as an attractive destination for Bangladeshi visitors. He suggested implementing electronic visa systems to simplify travel procedures for Bangladeshi nationals.

Chief Adviser Yunus endorsed the proposal, emphasizing that Bangladesh's young workforce could contribute to Albania's economic development. He requested streamlined visa processes, as Bangladeshi citizens currently must travel to New Delhi for visa applications. Law Adviser Asif Nazrul confirmed Bangladesh's ability to supply a diverse range of professionals, including medical staff, agricultural workers, and factory workers. Albanian universities also expressed readiness to accept Bangladeshi students through established international programs.
