Alia Bhatt's Difficult Daughters selected for Asian Project Market at Busan festival

The Busan International Film Festival announced thirty selections for its Asian Project Market. Alia Bhatt produces Difficult Daughters alongside sister Shaheen Bhatt and veteran producer Alan McAlex. Director Soni Razdan helms the project for the upcoming market showcase. Kani Kusruti collaborates with Payal Kapadia on The Last Of Them Plagues under director Kunjila Mascillamani. The lineup features filmmakers with previous BIFF connections and diverse international projects.

The market spans four days from September 20 through 23 during the festival's twentieth edition at BEXCO. Chinese-language productions represent five selections while Japanese directors contribute three projects. Malaysian filmmaker Lau Kok Rui presents Wake Me up When the Mourning Ends with established producers. Bhatt recently appeared in Jigra as both actress and producer. She stars opposite Sharvari in the upcoming spy film Alpha during Christmas 2025 as part of Yash Raj Films' expanding action universe.
