AMD hikes GPU prices again as memory costs soar

AMD has informed its manufacturing partners that graphics card prices will increase by a minimum of 10 percent across all models, according to industry sources. The adjustment affects the complete product range, from the recently launched Radeon RX 9000 series based on RDNA 4 architecture to existing lineups.

The price adjustment stems from tightening DRAM supply conditions, which analysts attribute to heavy demand from artificial intelligence applications. Memory manufacturers have reportedly reduced production capacity rather than expanding facilities, further constraining availability. Both AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards rely on GDDR memory chips for consumer products.

Major board partners such as ASUS, Gigabyte, and PowerColor have received official notification of the pending increase. The timing proves particularly unfortunate for AMD's newest offerings, which had only recently returned to manufacturer-suggested retail pricing after initial market fluctuations. Consumers currently shopping during seasonal promotions may find the best opportunities before higher prices take effect in the coming weeks.
