Union Home Minister Amit Shah advocated for indigenous products on Saturday to strengthen India's economy. The minister addressed attendees in Jagdalpur and explained that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's administration reduced taxes on 395 items, with essential household goods taxed at 5 percent. Shah observed that approximately 300 companies displayed products at a Swadeshi Mela organized by the Swadeshi Manch.
The minister encouraged Chhattisgarh residents to persuade Maoists to surrender and participate in regional development. Shah announced that 4.40 lakh crore rupees would support development projects across Chhattisgarh, but warned security forces would eliminate Naxalism by March 31, 2026. The government inaugurated a rural bus service connecting 250 villages across the Bastar and Sarguja divisions on 34 routes.
Shah transferred 606 crore rupees to 65 lakh women through the Mahtari Vandan Yojana program during the Bastar Dussehra festival.
