Amutenya hails plan to hire teachers, medics

A Swapo Party representative praised government plans to hire teachers and medical workers as legislators met on Wednesday. Willem Amutenya said the funding shift addresses overcrowding in schools and hospitals while creating jobs for recent graduates. He pressed ministry officials to complete recruitment for more than 2,000 approved roles without hesitation.

The lawmaker recognized the agriculture ministry's achievements in national green schemes that boosted recent harvests. Amutenya said production gains must benefit citizens directly to support food security goals. He called for systems that deliver agricultural output to families rather than measuring success solely by yield numbers.
