Anisotropic Audio released the Piano Tuner app

Dropping cash on hardware tuning devices feels totally unnecessary when an iOS app calculates custom stretch curves from live spectrum data. Anisotropic Audio just released Anisotropic Piano Tuner to transform iPhones and iPads into standalone electronic tuning tools without requiring internet connectivity.

This software measures per-note inharmonicity to generate individualized temperaments while offering balanced, octave-, or fifth-based styling options for precise adjustments. Users drag keys directly on the curve or run an entropy solver to dial in targets across bass, middle, and treble registers during pitch raise workflows.

The free version unlocks three complete octaves, including A4 reference, while in-app purchases open all eighty-eight keys for full instrument coverage. Built-in strobe meters and unison beat analysis provide real-time feedback alongside stability readouts that track tuning quality over multiple service visits.

Local backups store voice memos and reference photos without forcing accounts or analytics tracking onto technicians. Version 1.0 runs entirely offline on iOS 15 or later with a thirteen-language manual baked right into the interface for global accessibility.
