Anne Burrell Dies Suddenly at 55, Fans in Mourning

TV cook Anne Burrell died at her New York home on Tuesday at age 55. Police found her unresponsive before 8 am and doctors pronounced her dead. The Food Network confirmed her passing but did not release the cause. Medical officials plan to perform an autopsy to determine what happened. Burrell taught bad cooks through hundreds of Worst Cooks in America episodes.

The celebrity chef appeared on television as recently as April making chicken dishes. She competed against other famous cooks on Food Network shows during spring. Burrell helped kitchen failures learn cooking basics across 27 seasons. Her platinum blonde hair and bold recipes made her famous among food show fans. Contestants often brought terrible dishes like pineapple pasta and peanut butter fish.

Anne came from Cazenovia where her parents ran a flower shop. She studied English at Canisius University before working as a headhunter job she hated. Cooking school at the Culinary Institute changed her life completely. She married Stuart Claxton during 2021 and wrote two popular cookbooks.
