Anshul Kamboj debuts as India face England in fourth Old Trafford Test

England captain Ben Stokes elected to bowl after winning the toss against India at Old Trafford during the fourth Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy Test match. The hosts lead the five-match series 2-1 following their dramatic 22-run victory at Lord's in the previous encounter. India made three changes to their lineup for this Manchester contest. Seamer Anshul Kamboj earned his Test debut, becoming the 318th player to represent India in the longest format. B Sai Sudharsan and Shardul Thakur also joined the playing eleven.

Kamboj replaced the injured Akash Deep, while Sudharsan took Karun Nair's position in the batting order. Shardul Thakur came into the team after Nitish Kumar Reddy suffered a left knee injury that ruled him out of the remaining series. Anil Kumble holds the distinction of being the last Indian cricketer to make his Test debut in Manchester. Both Kumble and Kamboj share the achievement of taking ten wickets in a single first-class innings. England made one alteration, bringing back Liam Dawson after eight years to replace the injured Shoaib Bashir.
