I'm seeing a lot of negative and skeptical comments about the Marian Marinica hiring. I get it, our football has been in a bad place. But I'm trying to be optimistic here. This is a guy with a UEFA Pro License and over 25 years of experience. He's worked all over the world, including in Africa.

He literally gave Malawi their best-ever AFCON result. That's not nothing. Maybe Marian Marinica is exactly the kind of tough, disciplined coach we need to shake things up and get the players to take things seriously. Is anyone else willing to give him a chance before we write him off?

I'm actually feeling pretty optimistic. I know everyone is focused on the one-year deal or his time at Liberia, but let's look at the facts. This is a UEFA Pro coach with tons of experience. And his biggest achievement in Africa is exactly what we need. He took Malawi a team with less stars than us to the AFCON knockout stage. That’s a huge accomplishment.

It shows Marian Marinica knows how to build a disciplined team that is hard to beat. He knows how to win in Africa. I'm excited about his high-energy football. We've been so slow and boring to watch for years. I am ready for a change. I want to see our players pressing and fighting.

We have to give the man a chance. We can complain about ZIFA all day, but Marian Marinica is the...

We have to give the man a chance. We can complain about ZIFA all day, but Marian Marinica is the coach now. He has a proven record of making teams better than they are on paper. Let's stop being so negative and get behind him and the team. I think he might surprise a lot of people.
