APC chieftain labels US airstrike critics enemies of Nigeria

A politician just called critics of U.S. airstrikes traitors. Chief Ben Adaji, an APC chieftain and former House of Reps candidate from Kogi, said President Bola Tinubu should label anyone opposing the recent American military action as an enemy of Nigeria. He made these comments in Jalingo, Taraba State, targeting Islamic clerics who criticized the reported U.S. strikes on terrorist spots in the North-West.

Adaji called the criticism pure hypocrisy or proof of helping the terrorists. He stated that Nigerians have suffered massively from these violent groups, with uncountable lives lost and property wrecked. He found it insane that anyone would sympathize with the militants unless they were involved themselves. The politician pushed for a tougher military line, demanding an end to negotiations with armed factions. He also wanted the U.S. to keep up and even widen its strikes to cover all insecure regions, including areas hit by bandits and herder attacks. Adaji, claiming expertise in counter-terrorism, urged the prosecution of any person openly supporting these groups. He argued that terrorist actions attack national sovereignty, so anyone against the airstrikes is essentially against the country. He warned that religious leaders are not above the law, noting that victims come from both Christian and Muslim communities. Finally, he told Nigerian security agencies to stay strong and asked the government to back what he called real international help to bring back peace.
