Apple ends absorbing tariff costs, iPhone 17 Pro price to rise

Apple faces pressure to raise iPhone 17 prices when the company launches its fall 2025 lineup. Analysts predict increases between four and six percent for most models, though some forecast jumps as high as fifty percent. The tech giant has absorbed twenty percent tariffs on China-assembled devices but may transfer these costs to consumers. Higher-end models could see fifty-dollar price increases while the base iPhone 17 maintains its $799 starting price.

The company plans to justify price hikes through enhanced features rather than citing tariff policies directly. Apple continues shifting production from China to India, targeting 2026 for most US supply transitions. However, Pro models still require Chinese manufacturing due to advanced technology requirements. Jefferies analysts expect the iPhone 17 Slim, Pro, and Pro Max variants will bear the additional costs while negotiations with component suppliers continue.
