Apple Execs Say Siri Demo Was Real Delayed Over Issues

Apple executives defend their delayed Personalized Siri feature after widespread criticism. Craig Federighi leads software engineering and Greg Joswiak handles marketing for the tech giant. Both men told The Wall Street Journal that their WWDC demonstration used real working software. The feature included actual language models and semantic search capabilities. Critics claimed Apple showed fake demonstration software to audiences.

Joswiak rejected claims that the company presented non-functional demonstration materials. Federighi confirmed they filmed genuine working technology during the presentation. Apple delayed the feature multiple times before moving it to next year. Quality standards prevented the company from releasing Personalized Siri to customers. The executives expect to announce the feature during early 2025 releases.

Personalized Siri would understand user context and provide on-screen awareness capabilities. The assistant could access app controls and offer deeper integration across iPhone systems. Apple wanted to lead the artificial intelligence automation market with on-device processing. Federighi believes no other companies perform automation tasks effectively on personal devices. The feature could arrive with iOS 26.4 software updates.
