Apple punishes Dublin, Europe with an inferior iPhone 17 Pro battery

Apple delivers enhanced power efficiency through eSIM technology rather than processor improvements alone in its latest iPhone 17 Pro models. The company restricts this advantage to United States customers and select international markets, while other regions receive devices with traditional physical SIM slots. eSIM variants provide two additional hours of video playback compared to their physical SIM counterparts due to increased internal space allocation. The iPhone 17 Pro achieves 30 hours of battery life while the Pro Max reaches 35 hours in supported regions, compared to 28 and 33 hours, respectively, for physical SIM versions. Apple reports the Pro Max model accommodates a 5,000mAh battery capacity through this design modification, representing a significant milestone for the product line.
